W.A.T.T.S.

(We Are Trained To Survive)

This is an ongoing project that takes me to where I grew up - Watts, California. As someone who was raised in this community, I feel that I have an incredible opportunity to give voices to the ignored. I want to use my unique perspective and passion for photography to tell the stories of Watts and the people who call it home. This project is a tribute to the community's resilience, spirit, and diversity that has shaped me into the person I am today. Through my lens, I aim to capture the essence of Watts, providing a glimpse into the daily lives of its inhabitants and giving them a voice in a way that has often been missing in media representations. This project is more than just an opportunity to showcase art - it's a chance to pay homage to the place I call home while telling untold stories.
